My experience with Justin's "JA Coffee" reaches back to pre-COVID days when a new little coffeeshop popped up at Noosa Junction right around to corner on the street to the beach. My yoga group met there regularly and mixed … More in with the bicycle crowd who were also early birds needing their coffee fix after morning tours.
The delicious roasting smells greeted us at the door along with smiles behind the counter. Sometimes there were even hugs - something we only learned to truly appreciate during the pandemic.
It was perfect, just like the epic look and taste of the best dark chocolate on my capuccino. So goood :-))
A friend who came visiting from Noosa on her Europe tour once brought me a bag of "OLD SKOOL" beans along - I was so happy!!!
Alas, when I returned from my home country in Germany after that crazy pandemic time and went to the shop, looking forward all along the trip - I found the space, but no more Justin, and none of his roasts were served.
An accidental run-in with him and Jody at the grocery store parking lot was the solution at that time. They told me there was one outlet at the Junction where I could go and buy his beans.
When I returned this year that was gone, too. What a bumma.
My online search showed me a lot of new roasteries and cafés which praise themselves, but...
It was a great moment when auntie Google finally showed me JA! and easy online shopping. So I ordered and the bags arrived.
First it was a similar roast to the Old Skool, now named "Lekker Bru". Expectations were definitely satisfied.
Then another roast appeared and hit our nerves with its description of "dark chocolate, molasses, toasted nuts and brown sugar". "STERK" – all taste buds say YESSS to that one!!!
Hey - next year when I return from Germany, I'll hopefully still find you roasting and if possible I'll drop by and enjoy a cup at Forest Glen. Keep the good work going - this world needs solid quality ;-))
